Pamedic Spotlight|Global Layout of RDC Racetrack

In recent years, the field of nuclear drugs (radiotherapy) has attracted a lot of eyeballs and become one of the focal points of the pharmaceutical industry, as the result, major global leading companies in the industry are actively explorining the Radionuclide Coupled Drug (RDC) field.

How International Leading Companines Design the RDC Racetrack

Novartis: As a leader in the field of nuclear drugs, Novartis has rapidly built up a technology platform for radioligand therapy through acquisitions and other means, and successfully launched Lutathera and Pluvicto, which has been approved by the FDA for the treatment of a wide range of malignant tumors and have proved performing well in the market. In addition, Novartis has been relentless in the research and development of new products, with 177Lu-FAP-2286, 177Lu-NeoBOMB1, 225Ac-PSMA-617 and other products currently under development. A series of layouts signify Novartis's prominent leading position in the field of nuclear drugs.

Bayer: Bayer’s commitment to the nuclear drug space is long before other companies, launching Xofigo a decade ago and continuing to ramp up its comitment to the RDC racetrack with the acquisitions of Algeta, Noria and PSMA Therapeutics. Currently, Bayer has several RDC programs under development in preclinical and early clinical stages.

Eli Lilly: In order to march towards the nuclear drug field, Eli Lilly acquired POINT Biopharma, a nuclear drug company, at a high price, thus gained several RDC products and related technology platforms.

In addition, AstraZeneca, Merck, Johnson & Johnson and other companies are also playing an important role in the R&D and clinical trials of RDC, through actively designing the nuclear drug field via equity investment, technology introduction and other means. The active participation of these multinational companies has further promoted the development of the nuclear drug field and brought more possibilities for a new generation of cancer treatment.

How Chinese Companies Design the RDC Tracetrack

Jiangsu Hengrui Pharmaceuticals Co., Ltd.:Hengrui rapidly develops in the field of nuclear drugs, and its products lutetium [177Lu] oxytetracycline injection and HRS-4357 injection have been approved for clinical use.Lutetium [177Lu] oxytetracycline injection is used for the treatment of adult gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (GEP-NETs); HRS-4357 injection is used for the treatment of adult metastatic desmoplastic resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC).These products have filled the gaps in nuclear precision therapy in China and consolidated Hengrui Medicine's leading position in the field of nuclear drugs.

Grand Pharmaceutical Group Co., Ltd.:It boasts products such as radioactive microspheres targeting liver malignant tumors, and its products have achieved remarkable results in clinical applications.Product SIR-Spheres® Yttrium [90Y] microsphere injection, is used in the radiotherapy of liver malignant tumors; Product TLX101 (131I-IPA), is used in the diagnosis and treatment of glioblastoma and has obtained the qualification of U.S. Orphan Drug; and Product TLX250-CDx (89Zr-girentuximab), is recognized by the U.S. FDA as a breakthrough therapy for a number of specific tumor treatments.

Yantai Dongcheng Pharmaceutical Group Co., Ltd.:since 2015, Dongcheng Pharmaceuticals has been actively designing the field of nuclear drugs, for example, it has launched Yunke injection (technetium [99Tc] methylenediphosphonate injection for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, and rhenium [188Re] etidronate injection, which is under development for the treatment of bone metastasis of malignant tumors, etc.

Hexin(Suzhou)Pharmaceutical Technology Co., Ltd.:Hexin Pharmaceuticals is an emerging nuclear drug research and development company focusing on a variety of relapsed and refractory tumors, boasting the world's first dual-targeted diagnostic radiotherapy integration patented technology. Its first product is the 68Ga-HX01 program for the diagnostic radiotherapy of multiple recurrent and refractory tumors, which is under the clinical trial stage; the 177Lu dual-target therapeutic class 1 drug is under development and will be used for tumor treatment; and the other six types of RDC drugs with different targets are in the preclinical research and development stage, and are expected to be launched in 2025.

Sichuan Kelun-Biotech Biopharmaceutical Co., Ltd.: Kelun-Biotech's TBM-001, a radiocoupled drug for the diagnosis and treatment of bone metastases, has demonstrated higher efficacy and safety in the application of bone metastases in advanced prostate cancer, breast cancer, lung cancer and other malignant tumors.

As for the utilization rate of radiopharmaceuticals, in the global market, Chinese market only accounts for 6%, while the North American market up to 40%, which shows that radiopharmaceutical marke of China has great potential and needs to be further developed and expanded. At the same time, with the active layout of major global pharmaceutical companies, the competition in the global nuclear drug market will become increasingly fierce. As an emerging company focusing on the field of nuclear drugs, Pamedic Holdings are committed to the research and development and production of nuclear drugs. While continuously exploring innovative drugs, Pamedic Holdings is also continuing to strengthen the cooperation and exchange with international cutting-edge technology, in order to launch more innovative and effective nuclear drug products as the new power in the field of tumor treatment.
